Hugo Rasmussen, a Danish bassist, was born 22 March 1941 in Bagsvaerd. Rasmussen is most well-known for his 1978 album Sweets To The Sweet. Sweets To the Sweet was reissued on Danish label Music Mecca in 2001. He has collaborated with Ralph Sutton and Teddy Wilson, Horace Parlan, Dexter Gordon, Oliver Nelson and Tom Waits. He is a sought-after bass player around the globe. He was a part of 800 albums. Rasmussen is the current acoustic basseist for Norbert Sussihl’s New Orleans All Stars as well as for Hugo Rasmussen AllStarz, which he formed with Jakob Dinesen and Kasper Trandberg (tenor sax), Andrew Hyhne (trombone), Andrew Hyhne and Kresten Osgood on drums.
