Tom Ridout, a native of Aylesbury, began playing the clarinet and recorder at the age 10 and then moved onto the saxophone at 10. Tom attended the Junior Department of The Royal Academy of Music, on recorder, and the Junior Jazz at The Royal Academy of Music, on saxophone in his sixth form years. He also received places on the National Youth Jazz Collective summer schools. He is currently in his final year at The Royal Academy of Music and studying jazz saxophone. Tom is also a tenor saxophonist in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. From www.bbc.co.uk
