Jason Roebke

Jason Roebke, a double bassist who works in jazz and improvised musicals is Jason Roebke. He has been a prominent musician in Chicago since 1999 when he moved there. The Chicago Reader described his work in this way: “A carefully orchestrated rummage through an hardware store.” {He regularly works with a wide range of ensembles: Mike Reed’s People Places and ThingsnJason, Stein Locksmith, Isidore,nJeb Bishop, TrionSteve Dawson,noverova,nJames Falzone, Klang,nKeefe Jackson, QuartetnJason Adasiewicz, Rolldown,nJorrit Dijkstra, Flatlands, Collective,nFred Lonberg-Holm’s Valentine Trio.|He works regularly with many ensembles, including Mike Reed’s People Places u0026 Things Jason, Stein Locksmith and Jeb Bishop, Trio Steve Dawson.} He was awarded a 2009 Artist Fellowship for Music Composition by the Illinois Arts Council, Community Arts Assistance Program grant of the City of Chicago (2007) and CROSSCUT (2007): New collaborations on Sound/Movement at Experimental Sound Studio and Links Hall. from www.umbrellamusic.org
