JONATHAN ROWDEN, a jazz saxophonist in Los Angeles, is a composer and jazz saxophonist. He is described as a new talent who has exploded onto the vibrant Los Angeles jazz scene. Jonathan strives to create improvised music that transcends the traditional jazz genres. He draws from his diverse taste and backgrounds in jazz, classical, pop rock, jazz and many other styles. His melodic lyricism and rhythmic acuity make him an empathetic voice. His unique participatory approach to groupimprovisation allows listeners to go beyond just listening and to truly engage in the moment. THE JONATHAN ROWDEN GROUP, an instrumental quartet, breaks through the traditional dichotomies of form and freedom. Their ethos is built on a fine interplay between original, structured compositions and spontaneous improvisation.
