He was born in Pescara in Italy in 1969 and has been based in Copenhagen since 1996. At the age of 9, he began playing the piano. Paolo left the University to study Architecture for five years and devoted himself entirely to music. Paolo is a trained musician in both rhythmic and classical music. He has performed throughout Europe as well as Argentina and Brazil, Uruguay, Brazil. Thailandia, Mozambique. Tanzania, Mozambique. Algeria, Russia. Greenland. Richie Beirach taught him music and Nestor Marconi taught him. He collaborated with many international and local artists including Lelo Nika and Gianluigi Trovesi in New York, as well as with Caroline Henderson and Howe Gelb. Paolo has composed music to play in Copenhagen’s theatre: “Rejsen til i morgen” u0026 “Pan” – Anemone Teatret 2000/2002, “Frimaerkeballet – Badteatret – 2001/02. This beautiful, mysterious instrument has been a key part of his live performances and productions since 2001 when he discovered it. He was also the subject of the 2002 documentary film “The Illogical Instrument”, which was directed by Arun Sharma. He produced and composed the soundtracks to the films “See you in future” and “Polizzi, my little Brooklyn”, both directed by Arun Sharma. You can also hear his bandoneon playing in the soundtrack to the Danish film director Susanne Bier (2012), “Love is all that you need”.
