Denny Seiwell is there when the music is great and the artists playing are the best in their fields. Denny is one of today’s most well-respected musicians. His career has taken him from New York’s most prestigious jazz clubs to Rock’s largest stadiums to studio sessions. Denny started playing the drums at 5 years of age by his father. He was barely a teenager when he became a professional musician. After high school, a stint with the Navy Jazz Band led to a year-long assignment in Chicago under Roy Knapp. This legendary teacher taught such greats as Louie Bellson and Buddy Rich. After high school, Denny moved to New York and began his first job at Half Note Jazz Club playing with the Zoot Sims/Al Cohn Quintet. He was then hired to do studio work, which made him the Big Apple’s premiere session drummer. Denny has played with some of the most respected Jazz musicians, and his Rock-n-Roll record is even more impressive. It all began with a Paul McCartney invitation to Denny to move to London to become a founding member the post-Beatles phenomenon, “WINGS.” Denny was also on tour with Wings, playing on many of the era’s greatest hits, such as “My Love” and “Live and Let Die”, among others. Another highlight of Denny’s London years was his work with Joe Cocker and Donovan as well as the London Symphony Orchestra’s groundbreaking version of “Tommy” Rock Opera. You can hear Denny’s signature dumming on recordings by Art Garfunkel and James Brown, Astrud Gildo, Deniece Wilkins, Janis Joplin, Janis’ posthumous Farewell Song album, Billy Joel and McCartney’s albums “Cold Spring Harbor”, “Wildlife”, and “Red Rose Speedway”. His passion for music, human spirit, and his training and abilities earned him the reputation of being one of the most respected drummers in the industry. He has played on some of LA’s most important TV and Film dates. From www.dennyseiwell.com
