Frans Vermeerssen, Robert Jan Vermeulen and others founded a new Dutch Quartet. Vermeulen is well-known for his work in mainstrean Jazz groups. However, he was also developing an interest in Thelonious Monk’s music. Vermeerssen is a long-standing member of the improvised music scene, but he has always been interested in lively jazz from the 50s and 60s. They form an intriguing foundation for a new quartet. Vermeulen u0026 Vermeerssen created a new repertoire, and discovered talented young musicians to join them: Dion Nijland (bass) and Yonga Moon (drummer).
