Tuatara

Tuatara, a Seattle-based composers group, was founded by Barrett Martin, Justin Harwood, Luna, Peter Buck, and Skerik, the exceptional saxophonist. The group was formed in 1996. It has since grown to include a 10-piece ensemble that is known for creating cinematic compositions that combine jazz and world music styles. Originally an instrumental band, Tuatara evolved into an alternative rock supergroup. It was founded by Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey from REM, Barrett Martin and the Screaming Trees and Kevin Hudson. Horn players Dave Carter, Craig Flory and percussionist Elizabeth Pupo–Walker were the principal members. They have since collaborated with a variety of well-known guest singers such as John Wesley Harding and Mark Eitzel on their most recent albums. From discogs
