The 29th Street Saxophone Quartet was formed in 1982. It includes Bobby Watson and Ed Jackson on alto, Rich Rothenberg on the tenor and Jim Hartog as baritonst. This part-time unit, which has recorded many sets for Red and Antilles, is quite adventurous in the straight-ahead tradition. Allmusic
