Ada Rave (1974; Comodoro Rivadavia) is an Argentinian saxophonist and improviser. Ada’s instrumental approach is based upon extensive research into many techniques, both conventional and unconventional, that allow her to create a very personal narrative in real-time composition. She is known for her extraordinary ability to create abstract music and one of the most bold tenor voices around. Ada was born in rural Patagonia and moved to Buenos Aires as a child. She then began her primary education and started performing as a musician. Although she was active in the local jazz scene, Ada became more interested in composition and improvised music early on. She went on to lead her own ensembles that performed at festivals and venues across Argentina. She decided to travel to Europe in 2013 to discover the richness of free improvisation and learn more about this music. She was based in Amsterdam and quickly integrated the improvised music scene. Ada is one of the most sought-after saxophonists in the world. She has performed all over Europe with her trio and solo, as well as in several projects such as Hearth, Kaja Draksler Octet, and The Ex. Ada is also a music educator and organizer for the series Impro Jam at De Ruimte. http://adarave.com
