Javier was raised in Mexico City and moved to Chicago in 2015. Javier has had some musical mentors, but he is mostly self-taught. Javier believes music is an inspiration and connects people with one another. It’s a never-ending process of self-discovery and exploration that leads to creativity and growth. He founded the Ethos Trio in 2001 with Jose Gurria (L.A. Gurrisonic Orchestra). They were also enrolled in many international performances such as the International Festival Meet in Beijing, China and the Washington Kennedy Center Celebrating Mexico. They were also often joined by Michael Caldwell, a California State University senior faculty member, as special guests. These performances included the International Festival Meet in Beijing in China and the Washington Kennedy Center Celebrating Mexico. He met Matt Davis, a New York-based guitarist.
