Marko Ramljak

When he was nine years old, he began classical training and soon discovered his passion for guitar. His violin expression was greatly influenced by his guitar playing. Marko began his musical career in 1993/94. He was a guitarist in the popular South African band “Kreesan” during those two years. He returned to Sibenik and joined the Irish folk band “Secret Life”. There he recorded “Trlis”, an instrumental song. It was a hit on local radio stations. Shortly after, he signed as an author of music for “Green Song”, which he recorded with Sean Cannon and The Dubliners. He was invited by Gibonni, a croatian pop singer, to contribute to the album “Judi zviri i betimje”. Vlatko Stefanovski invited him to be a guest at a concert of the “Vlatko Stefanovski Trio”, in Split (Croatia). He was a violinist on Gibonni’s album “Mirakul”, and also wrote the theme “Ono nesto”. After that, he met Pino Paladino and Manu Katche to work on the album. There were new opportunities to work with the gypsy jazz group Hot Club Zagreb, with Mate Matisic (croatian jazz guitarist) and the jazz quartet Quartet Sensitive on the album “Discussao”. In 2003, he recorded his first solo album with Matija Delic (piano), Henry Radanovic (bass), Damir Somen (drums), Marijan Brkic (guitar), Eduard Botric – keyboard, and Matko Petric (percussion). He was invited by Krassi Jalazkow to join “Balkan Horses Band II”, where he met Ramesh Shotham, Nikolai Ivanov (guitar), and many other Indian percussionists.
