Boston’s jazz scene was one of the most vibrant in America during the 1990s. It featured a lot of avant-garde experimentation and a lot hard bop. Boston was home to as much bop and as many avant-garde activities as Lower Manhattan or Chicago. Plunge was a mildly avant-garde group that emerged in Beantown in 1990s.
