Adrian Raso, a well-respected guitarist/composer, is from Guelph (Ontario), Canada. Adrian has released two EPs of instrumental music and six full-length instrumental albums. Black Mamba (2005) demonstrated Adrian’s incredible versatility and musicianship in a range of styles, from Gypsy to Latin. Adrian’s music is an excellent example of how commercially acceptable music can be accepted by technically-minded musicians. Adrian’s second all-acoustic album, Tales of a Wandering Bohemian, was released in 2006. This passionate, fiery guitar-driven CD highlights his ability to move from Middle-Eastern to Mediterranean and Gypsy music styles. Adrian’s tribute Gypsy Swing is C’est La Vie (2008). These 15 compositions are his tribute to Django Reinhardt, French Gypsy music and traditional French Gypsy music. Nick Blagona, a legend in Gypsy Jazz and Stephane Grapelli mixed this album. Clean Up The Mess was Adrian’s return to his hot electric roots in 2010. It featured the drumming of Jeff Consi and Nuno Bettencourt. He released “Dead Man’s Hand”, a high-energy rockabilly song featuring Lee Rocker (The Stray Cats), on bass, and Kevin Figueiredo(Extreme), on drums. The single was mixed by Bob St. John, and the artwork was created in part by Vince Ray. Nina del Sol was released by Adrian in 2011. The record was mixed by Bob St. John (multi-platinum, Grammy-winning producer) and highlights Adrian’s Mediterranean influences. It also features guest performances from Sheila E. (Prince Ringo Starr), and Kevin Figueiredo, drummer (Extreme). Adrian was very busy in 2012, releasing Liquor Talkin’, an album that is rockabilly inspired, with his electric band, The Big Deal. Adrian also collaborated with Fanfare Ciocarlia, a world-renowned Gypsy brass band. This high-energy recording will undoubtedly offer a unique musical experience for the entire world. Special guest performances include John Jorgenson (Elton John) and Rodrigo (Rodrigo y Gabriela). Canadian filmmaker is producing a documentary about the recording process. Adrian has received positive reviews and critical acclaim, which have allowed him to write original music for independent film productions and theatre productions. He also has artist endorsements from Gretsch Guitars and Godin Guitars. Adrian was also featured on CBC Radio and a Canadian YMCA campaign. He is the proud recipient for an Ontario Arts Council Grant in popular songwriting for 2012-2013. Adrian is a guitarist virtuoso and a talented songwriter.
