Afro Funk

Body Music, Afro Funk’s 1975 album, was recorded in London and released. It was mainly composed of West-African expatriates who lived in London. The city was home to an active African music scene at the time. Osibisa’s huge success spawned a host of young bands looking to make London their international launching point. Afro Funk didn’t find the success that they wanted and Body Music was their only album. This rare LP is a sought-after addition to record collections all over the globe due to its deep funk grooves, and driving afrobeat rhythms. Body Music was released by Kojo Asare’s Chairman Records, Ghana, after a small press release in London. It was a well-crafted mix of West-African styles, American funk and it faded quickly into infamy despite its great production. Today, copies are rare. Secret Stash Records
