The way Akiko has merged punk, blues, and club music over the past decade to create a jazz style which is free, fun, and draws together mainstream and club jazz styles. Akiko Ishii was 24 years old when she made her debut in jazz 10 years ago. She wore braided hair and had just started to get noticed.
