Akku Quintet is a Swiss band that’s based in Berne. They play minimalistic jazz to great effect. The band was founded by Manuel Pasquinelli, the drummer. Their first CD, “Stages of Sleep”, was released by Morpheus Records in May 2013. The quintet set to music the various phases of sleep. Their second album, “Molecules”, was released by Morpheus Records in January 2015. It is available on CD and vinyl. The compilation CD “Jazz made In Switzerland 2014/15” was released by SUISA/ProHelvetia. It features the piece “Deep Sleep 2”. The third album, “Aeon”, was released in March 2017.
