Alessandro Collina: He took his first lessons in piano from his uncle, Maestro Ubaldo Giardini. Then, he continued his piano lessons under the guidance Gianmaria Bonino and received his diploma as a classical pianist at La Spezia (Itasy). After attending several stages on improvisation, he decided to enroll at the Jazz Piano class at Nice (France), Conservatory. While he was able to earn his diploma, he also played in several ensambles. These included the “Conte Big Band”, directed by Giampaolo Cassi, and the “Conte Quartet”, an italian-french group led by trombinist Luca Begonia. He collaborated then with many artists, including Emanuele Cisi and Claudio Capurro. He was a steady member of Paul Jeffrey’s Europe Tour band in 2006, 2007, and 2008. In 2009, he also recorded the CD “We See”, which is a tribute to Thelonius Monk for Imago Records. He also began his collaboration with Mike Campagna and Andy Gravish in the year 2007. The project “5AM” will be released by Anticraft in 2011. He was still invited by brothers Luis u0026 Philippe Petrucciani in 2009 to perform with them on the tenth anniversary the disappearance Michel Petrucciani. This long tour included several important Jazz Festivals in Italy.
