Alex Baboian, an Armenian-American composer, guitarist, teacher, and composer from Boston, Massachusetts, has been called a “Future Major Voice in Jazz” by Hal Crook and a review by Allaboutjazz.com “Forward Thinking.” Alex graduated from Berklee College of Music with a double major in Performance and Electronic Production u0026 Design. He was also awarded twice the achievement award for guitar department. He has performed at numerous venues and festivals across America, Asia, Europe, and Europe. Alex studied with Hal Crook and Jon Damian, Hal Crook, Jon Damian and Dave Fiuczynski. He also learned from Phil Wilson, Greg Hopkins and Jamey Haddad. His involvement in projects includes the Classical/Jazz crossover band Piano Bench, which released their debut album and went on to tour Europe. Ludmila Stefanikova’s quartet released “Be Beautiful”, their debut album, in 2011. They then went on a European tour. The debut album of Rafael Aguiar’s quintet is expected to be released by Greg Osby’s Inner Circle record label in Fall 2014. His debut album, “Curiosity”, will be released as a leader in Fall 2014. It features original arrangements and compositions for both jazz trio and quintet. Alex has also produced music, composed sound design and music for independent films and animations. He has also written scripts and musical scores that were performed in Boston.
