Alex is quickly becoming one of the most popular players in the London jazz scene. Alex started playing the clarinet at an early age and was accepted at Wells Cathedral School as a specialist musician at the clarinet. Alex discovered jazz music when he was 12 years old. However, it wasn’t until eighteen months before his auditions for the music college at 16 that he made the bold decision to learn jazz saxophone. Alex was awarded a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he graduated first-class honours. Alex Garnett has had the privilege of studying with some of jazz’s most renowned musicians, including Stan Sulzmann (Stan Sulzmann), Jean Toussaint (Stan Ballamy), Gareth Lockrane, Gareth Lockrane, and Iain Ballamy), all of whom have had a profound impact on his playing.
