Alina is one the UK’s most dynamic and exciting harpists. Her innovative programmes have earned her a reputation for being a harpist of extraordinary accomplishment. Alina has been honoured to perform at the European Parliament, Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations at Balmoral Castle, and King of Thailand’s Birthday celebrations in Bangkok. Alina graduated from the F. Chopin Academy of Music, Warsaw, Poland (Masters of Arts) and The University of Arizona (Masters of Music Performance). Alina has performed with several major European orchestras, including the Young World Symphony Orchestra and the National Opera in Warsaw. Bzhezhinska, who has been a jazz harpist since London, is now one of the most creative international jazz harpists. Django Bates, Miguel AtwoodFerguson and Niki King are just a few of the jazz musicians she has recorded and collaborated with. Alina’s London appearances included Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, live broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and the London Jazz Festival. Gregory Porter was supported by her duo with Niki King, an award-winning jazz singer. She performed at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival as well as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Glasgow Jazz Festival, and the World Harp Congress in Sydney (Australia). Alina Bzhezhinska quartet performed at the London Jazz Festival 2017, performing a triple-bill performance with Denys Baptist, Coltrane’s specialist, and Pharoah Bernier, the legendary saxophonist. This project won the JazzFM Award for Best Live Experience of the Year. Bzhezhinska recorded “Harp Recital”, a solo album, and performed at recordings of Harp Fusion’s American harp group and Wisniewski/Stevenson’s jazz group “New Focus”. Ubuntu Music will release her jazz quartet album INSPIRATION in June 2018.
