Alon Nechushtan

Alon moved to New York in 2003 and has been a pianist and collaborator with jazz greats such as Roy Campbel and Joe Ford. Alon has been a sideman in many ensembles, including Frank London’s trio with Marcus Rojaz, Frank London, Baye Kouyate, and his afrobeat ensemble featuring Emilio Valdez. Kenny Wollesen Himalays and Ben Goldberg, Nick Gianni’s Evolution, Root Valdez, QB3. Daniel Carter Quartet with Roy Campbell, Sabir Mateen, William Parkers Ensemble, Dave Schnitter and Bruce Cox. Saul Rubin, Bruce Cox, Saul Rubin, Saul Rubin, Saul Rubin, Saul Rubin, Saul Rubin, Saul Rubin, Saul Ruben ensemble, and others. Alon founded the quintet TALAT, in 2002. The quintet TALAT recorded the CD ‘THE GRROWL’ on John Zorn’s Tzadik Records. It was mixed by Bill Laswell. The group has been playing regularly in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Israel and Europe at venues like the Washington D.C Jewish Music Festival, The Blue Note Jazz Club and Joes Pub at the Public Theatre. Alon’s piano trio LABYRINTHS has been released on the Swedish label Ayler Records. John Lockwood and Bob Gulotti, along with Bob Moses, play his original compositions. His third album as a leader was WORDS BEYOND. It was released on BuckyBall Records in 2012. It won the Best Jazz Record award at the Independent Music Awards. A second exciting release was on Portugal’s Creative Sources. It was titled DARK FORCES (2012). This album featured a number of top New York musicians, including Ned Rothenberg and Robert Dick. The year 2013 began with a busy release on Germany’s Challenge Records / Between the lines entitled “RITUAL FIRE” and featuring the great clarinetist Harold Rubin along with Bob Meyer, Ken Filiano and Ken Filiano. http://musicalon.com
