Ameen Saleem

Ameen Saleem is a Queens College jazz bassist who graduated from the Aaron Copland school of music. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts invited him to the 2004 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residence Program for young jazz musicians. This program was for both composers and performers. Ameen Saleem performed with the Duke Ellington School of the Arts Jazz Ensemble and the North Carolina Central University Jazz Ensemble. She also played with the Queens College Jazz Ensemble and the Eve Cornelious Trio and Chip Crawford Trio. He is also a member of the Winard Harper Sextet. Saleem has performed at the Montreaux and North Sea Jazz Festivals, Vienne, East Coast Jazz Vox, Hampton Jazz Festivals, and Carolina Jazz Festivals.
