Amigdala was founded in Naples, Italy in 2008 as a “laboratory for instrumental music”. It aims to combine jazz with progressive rock and avant garde. The band’s debut album, “Opere Omus”, was released on the independent label Suoni del Sud in 2012. It featured Marco Gesualdi (guitars), Vittorio Nicoletti Alimari (bass), Carmine Brachi(drums), Carmine Brachi [drums], Luca Toller (“piano, synthesizers”) and Francesco Gallo (“sax, flute). They were assisted by Lino Vairetti, Osanna, during the recording sessions. This helped to enhance the sound. Amigdala draws inspiration from many sources, including The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Weather Report and Osanna. However they were able to bring a unique touch to their music by using Napoli Centrale and Area as their sources. from http://italianprogmap.blogspot.it
