Amiri Baraka, a dramatist, novelist, and poet from Africa, is one of the most well-known and widely published African American writers. Baraka was a pioneer in exploring the anger of African Americans and using his writings to fight racism. Baraka also advocated scientific socialism through his revolutionary-inclined poems, and sought to create aesthetic through them. Amiri Baraka’s writing career stretches over almost fifty years. He has mainly focused on Black Liberation and White Racism. His name is associated with a variety of well-known poems, short stories and commentary on literature, society, and music. Some of his most famous works include ‘The Music, Reflection on Jazz and Blues, The Book of Monk’ and “New Music, New Poetry”, among others.
