Anais Reno is a drama major at LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts in NYC. She was born in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 29, 2003. Anais, despite her young age, has been very artistically active since childhood. She is involved in performing arts ever since she was 8. Anais was awarded the Forte International Competition’s Platinum Award in 2016 at Carnegie Hall. She also won Second Place in Michael Feinstein’s Great American Song Book Academy competition. In Carmel, Indiana, Anais took second place in the summer 2018 and first in the Mabel Mercer Foundation competition. Anais received the Julie Wilson award in the fall 2020. Anais studied voice and music with Sarah Tolar, a Renati-Kaplan scholarship recipient at the 92nd street Y, as well as her father, Joan Lader and Lee Lobenhofer. Anais is a rising singer who loves jazz and the Great American Songbook. Anais has been able to perform with renowned professionals in the field since she was 10 years old. Anais has been a performer with the NY Philharmonic, David Geffen Hall, singing her own compositions. She also made her Rose Hall debut in 2019, in Lincoln Center, in the Cabaret Convention. Soon after, Anais sang at NJPAC alongside Clint Holmes, Catherine Russel, and Billy Stritch. With Tedd Firth and Billy Stritch, she has performed three solo shows at Feinstein’s 54 Below. The first was at age 13. She performed two shows in May, and one December 2019, which celebrated the music of Billy Strayhorn/Duke Ellington. August 2019, she performed with Birdland Big Band. She has also performed with the Friars Club as well as the National Arts Club, Player’s Club, and the Player’s Club. She has performed at Carnegie Hall several times. Her debut album, “Lovesome Thing”, which celebrates the music of Duke Ellington u0026 Billy Strayhorn, was released. It was accompanied by the Emmett Cohen Trio.
