Andy Bey

Andy Bey, one of the greatest jazz singers, is a masterful interpreter of lyrics. He has a large vocal range and a rich, full voice. Bey has a small following who swear by him, but he’s not nearly as well-known as he should. Bey, who was born and raised in Newark NJ, is not far from New York. He began singing at age eight in front of local audiences. An eight-year old Bey was accompanied at some gigs by Hank Mobley, a tenor sax legend. Bey was thirteen when he recorded Mama’s Little Boy’s Got the Blues in 1952. He was 17 when he founded Andy.
