Andy Gonzalez, born January 1, 1951 and died April 2020 in The Bronx (New York), was a New York City-based double basse player. Andy Gonzalez was a collaborator with Ray Barretto and Eddie Palmieri, Johnny Pacheco and Hector Lavoe. Hector Lavoe, Johnny Pacheco and Tito Puente were also among his colleagues. He also played with Chico O’Farrill, Chico O’Farrill, and the “Fort Apache Band” in the 1980s, which included Jerry Gonzalez, the trumpeter. Wikipedia
