Angel Roman And Mambo Blue

Angel Roman (Bassist/Composer), was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was educated at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and at Berkeley College of Music. Angel was invited to join La Chazz, Wisconsin’s most well-known Latin Jazz group. La Chazz performed with the Milwaukee Symphony shortly before he left for Boston. Mr. Roman was a friend and performer with Pianist Danilo Peez and Saxophonist Tommy Smith during his time in Boston. He also played with the Grammy-nominated Salsa band Caribbean Express. After leaving Boston, Angel migrated to Florida, and began doing studio work for Grammy-winning/Emmy-nominated music producer/composer Joel Somellain. Roman also served as a first-call sideman for visiting artists from Puerto Rico and South America, such as Johnny Rivera and Hector Tricoche. He was joined by Nelson Ned, master percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo. He was invited to tour briefly with Col. Bruce Hampton shortly before he moved to Nashville. Angel was invited to join Henry, a popular Nashville band, while Angel was visiting.
