Apostolis Anthimos, or ‘Lakis’ to friends, was born in Siemianowice Slaskie in Poland in 1954 to a Greek immigrant family. Most famously, he is the guitarist for SBB, the Polish rock supergroup. He also collaborated with Tomasz Stanko and Czeslaw Niemen. Anthimos, a musician of exceptional subtlety who plays both guitar and percussion instruments, is an example of a musician with exquisite musicality. He has been a regular guest on the SBB shows since 1971. He split his time between Poland, Greece and the 1980s, becoming a well-respected session musician. He worked as a guitarist and drummer with Tomasz Stanko back in Poland. He has been the leader of Trias, his own band in the nineties. Apostolis Anthimos Trio was born in the new millennium. Lakis was joined by two young Polish musicians, Robert Szewczuga (bass) and Krzysztof Zziedzic (drummer). Apostolis Anthimos participated in the recording and mixing of more than fifty albums, including his own album, Days We Can’t Forget (1994), backed by Gil Goldstein (Jim Beard), Matthew Garrison
