Arbete & Fritid was formed in 1969 and continued groping for directionality of various music for ten years while being based on pure folk song music. The band members are changed in cello players frequently except Ove Karlsson of the composer. Members were connected through the experiment jazz which was an underground performance, but were detonated by contact to vanguard minimalists like John Cage and Terry Riley. Their activity was novel in traditional North Europe folk song music of 1969 when a band moved into action and started. As for the performance that fused in folk music, jazz, a lock, vanguard experiment music, the unique band was able to make them truly in the early 1970s.
