Arthur Schutt started his professional music career as a pianist, playing silent films on the piano. He began his musical career as a teenager with the Paul Specht Orchestra and remained with Specht for many years. In 1923, he traveled with the band to London and recorded two piano novelty records on the Regal label. He worked with many bands, including the Roger Wolfe Kahn Orchestra, throughout the 1920s. In the 1920s Schutt was a highly sought-after studio musician in New York. He appeared on many records with jazz legends like Joe Venuti, Red Nichols and Frankie Trumbauer. Schutt was a New Yorker who led his own band during the 1930s. He was a studio musician for MGM Hollywood in the 1940s and 1950s. In 1965, he died in San Francisco. from http://www.redhotjazz.com
