The present sextet ASDRUBAL was originally formed in 2002 as a quartet. They are currently exploring new ways to express the music from the Banda Pelayera (traditional folkloric formats) on the different coasts. Asdrubal is a unique musical combination that combines elements of urban life – rock, free jazz, punk and minimalism – to create music that is both traditional folkloric as well as contemporary. They have been performing live at important festivals, theatres, and concert halls across the country. This band has spent its time creating original music.
