Barbara Blue, singer/songwriter, belts out the blues at festivals and clubs around the globe. Her gritty urban blues performance and smoky Memphis Soul voice have been compared with Janis Joplin and Etta James. Blue calls Memphis home, performing five nights per week on Beale Street. Blue has nine critically acclaimed albums, all backed by world-class musicians. Tony Braunagel, Taj Mahal’s drummer, saw Blue perform live at Memphis in 2001. He was so impressed that he offered Barbara the Phantom Blues Band’s backing for her second CD, “Sell My Jewelry”. Blue recorded three albums with the Phantom Blues Band backing them, including “Memphis 3rd”.
