Benny Reid, Alto Saxophonist, is a forward-thinking jazz musician who combines post-bop improvisation and contemporary jazz composition. Reid was born in Westfield, NJ in 1980 and was raised to love jazz. Reid was introduced to jazz music by his jazz-loving parents, who also introduced him to John Coltrane and Miles Davis. Reid began playing the saxophone at age two and continued to play through high school. He then went on to study music at Indiana University where he graduated in 2002. In 2007, Reid’s solo album, Findings, was released on Concord. Reid’s second album, Findings, was released on Concord in 2007.
