Bill Harris (saxophone)

Bill Harris, a Portland, Oregon, saxophonist, is an educator, sideman, and member of the organist Steve Hall Quintet, when he’s not leading his own group. He grew up listening to Sonny Stitt and John Coltrane, and began playing woodwinds in second grade. Since then, he has been a fan of the alto and tenor Saxophones. Although a veteran of Portland’s jazz scene since 1964 and Inside-Out his first recording as a leader, it is an incredible top-notch recording with post-bop material which shines throughout.
