After my return from Ghana in 1977, I tried to use some of the knowledge I had in different musical groups, including Archimedes Badkar. But, after some time, a larger group was formed to create music that revolved around drumming (mostly Ewe), and funeral music from northern Ghana, The Bitter Funeral Beer Band. Bosse Skoglund, Thomas Mera Gartz and Mattias Hellden are the drummers. Thord Bengtsson is the guitarist and bass player. Anita Livstrand sings and plays the ko-gyil. Tommy Adolfsson and Kalle Eriksson were on trumpet. Christer Bothen, Christer Westling, Ulf Wallander and Christer Bothen played reeds. We toured Europe and performed at the Jazz Yatra in Bombay, 1984 after the album was released in 82. Hessischer Rundfunk recorded our concert in Frankfurt, 1982 with Don Cherry u0026 K. Sridhar and released it in the autumn of 2007. The album was nominated in the swedish Grammy category. from http://www.countryandeastern.se
