Blue Lab Beats, a genre-bending duo, are part of London’s vibrant contemporary jazz scene. They incorporate neo-soul, grime, and Carribean music in their mix of influences. The Blue Lab is where the pair create their grooves and hooks. Rising stars Ruby Francis, Kojey Radical and The Age of L.U.N.A frequent their Blue Lab for sessions. The twosome – Namali, aka NKOK and David – have remixed songs for Jodie Abacus and Rag’n’Bone Man and released Blue Skies in 2016. They have since topped jazz charts in Japan, Europe, and the UK and sold out shows, including the iconic Ronnie Scott’s in London. Their debut album, Xover, was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. It is due to be released at the end this month. It features many musicians, including Nubya Garcia, a rising saxophonist, and award-winning drummer Moses Boyd. There’s also an all-female jazz trio Nerija and Kojey Radical, as well as Tiana Major9 lending their vocals. From www.prsformusic.com
