One of Australia’s most prominent post-bop pianists. Bobby Gebert, one of Australia’s most respected jazz musicians, has over 40 years of exceptional achievements here and overseas. A pianist who is renowned for his superb interpretation of Thelonious monk, creativity, and mastery of bebop-based idioms, there is no doubt about that. He now leads a group of young musicians who are well-known on the Sydney jazz scene. Gebert continues to explore new musical territory and creates inspiring solos using compositions from the standard jazz repertoire (Monk and Ellington) and originals.
