Bobby Troup

Bobby Troup isn’t strictly a jazz musician, but he has made many important contributions to the music. He is a composer and has written the songs “Daddy”, “Snooty Cutie,” and “Baby, Baby All the Time” as well as the hit “Route 66”. Troup was a great pianist, having a regular jazz trio back in the 1950s. He is also a charming singer (although his early recordings were a bit too formal), an actor and a host on Stars of Jazz (a television series that featured a legend among jazz musicians) from 1956-1958. His wife Julie London also received some of his best-selling records. Allmusic
