Bobo Stenson

Bo Gustav Stenson, also known as Bobo Stenson and born in 1944, is a Swedish jazz pianist. Stenson was first recognized in 1963 when he left Vasteras’ local jazz scene to play regularly in Stockholm. He accompanied many visiting American musicians, including Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins and Gary Burton. Don Cherry was also a close friend of his from the beginning. Bobo Stenson spent the 70’s in a lot of different groups. He played with Jon Christensen and Arild Andersen, later with Jan Garbarek. He joined the Charles Lloyd quartet in 1988 and has been performing at major jazz festivals since 1996 with Tomasz Stanko’s septet/sextet. from http://en.wikipedia.org
