Antwerp-based Belgian pianist and composer. He focuses mainly jazz, improvisational, and alternative music. Bram began music classes at his hometown’s music school when he was eight years old. He also took percussion and piano lessons. As a teenager, Bram played drums with several alternative rock bands and experimented with electronic circuits and tape recorders. These were the influences that shaped his open-minded approach to music. He was 18 years old when he was admitted at the Antwerp Conservatory. He graduated from Antwerp Conservatory in jazz piano and was awarded a 2005 degree at the Brussels Conservatory in jazz composition and arranging. Bram also took lessons and attended masterclasses at these conservatories. Kenny Werner and Anthony Braxton, Gary Peacock and Mark Turner, Dave Liebman, Bill Carrotters, Bill Carrotters, and many others. Bram was involved in many projects over the years. Bram has played in many jazz groups, but his experience is vast. He also performed with singer-songwriters, alternative musicians, and members of the Belgian hip-hop scene. His time and dedication are devoted to many jazz/impro-projects. These include the international Bram Weijters Quartet, the Bram Weijters trio, and Quartet, as well the Hamster Axis, Mazzle and Zygomatik, Jelle Van Giel Group, and the Hamster Axis, which includes the One-Click Panther, Hamster Axis, Hamster Axis, and Hamster Axis.
