Bruce Brown, originally from LA was a well-respected pianist, singer and songwriter who performed at all the major Southern California jazz clubs. His songs are described as “original standards” that reflect his love for the American songbook. It is almost impossible to see the architecture of all the lyrics. His words flow in slow trickles, thoughtful bursts, and soulful longings. His melodies dance over bold chord changes, which give them their daring colouration. Bruce’s natural spontaneity and easygoing personality make him a great performer. He always leaves his audience wanting more. Bruce moved to New Zealand in 1998 to become Senior Vocal Jazz Tutor at Massey University Wellington. He also teaches part-time in the capital. Bruce recorded I Believe It with Don Rader and Gordon Brisker, as well as Sydney’s Hamish Stuart (guitar) and Jonathan Zwartz (bass). Love Finds You was his second album. He recorded it in LA with his jazz friends, including Larry Koonse (guitar), Dave Carpenter and Ron Stout (trumpet). http://sounz.org.nz
