Bruce Gertz is an award-winning electric and acoustic bassist, composer, educator and author. Berklee College of Music is his home. He has been teaching bass since 1976. Bruce has been awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Performance Award Grant, the Massachusetts Cultural Council Musical Composition Award and many awards for outstanding bassists from A.S.C.A.P. Additionally, he has received numerous recognition awards from both the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) and the Jazz Education Network. Bruce is also a member of the International Society of Bassists’ board of directors.
