Camille Filfiley is an American singer best known for her recordings and prominence in the early 1990s Freestyle and Dance Music genres. Camille started singing at seven years old. By age 14, she was performing professionally in New York City, with appearances at clubs such as Catch A Rising Star and The Improv. After being hired by Eumir Deodato, a hit producer and recording artist, Camille achieved her first radio success. Camille was Deodato’s featured vocalist, singing the hit songs “S.O.S. Fire In The Sky” and “Are You For Real”. (each song credited as Deodato featuring Camille). These songs reached #6 u0026 #17 on the Billboard Hot Dance Chart, and remained there for 26 weeks. “S.O.S. Fire In The Sky” was also a hit international, reaching the top in France and Holland[4]. Camille did live shows for Deodato over the next two-years. She was a fixture in New York’s “Garage Music” scene. This was when she was first discovered by Tony Humphries and Larry Levan. She released several solo records for 4th Records in the 1990s.
