Carlos Franzetti

Carlos Franzetti is a versatile musician, able to perform in symphonies and big band jazz as well as chamber music and Latin American music. He was a Latin Grammy(r), Nominee for Best Instrumental Album in 2007, and a 2006 Grammy(r), Nominee for Best Classical Contemporary Composition for his opera “Corpus Evita.” He also received the 2003 New Jersey Council on the Arts Composers Fellowship, The Yamaha Composers Award and The Trofeu Laus Award from Spain. He is an adjudicator for SGAE as well as the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation. Carlos Franzetti’s arrangements and compositions have been recorded and performed by the International Sejong Soloists. The Youth Orchestra of the Americas the Moab Music Festival and the Queens Symphony Orchestra. In 2006, he also conducted his arrangements of music written by Steve Kuhn at the Caramoor Festival. The opening concert of VI International Music Festival in Buenos Aires was at Teatro Colon. It featured the Orquesta de la Plata, Boston Pops, and the Buffalo Philharmonic. In 2006, he conducted his arrangements of music by Steve Kuhn (with Mr. Kuhn performing) at the Caramoor Festival. He has recorded and performed with jazz musicians Arturo Sandoval and Terence Blanchard, Terence Blanchard and Jon Faddis. He also scores films for Sidney Lumet and Harry Belafonte.
