Carlos Vega

Carlos Vega, a saxophonist/composer, was born in Miami, Florida. Carlos Vega was a young musician from Miami. He studied jazz at college and then played Latin and Salsa six times a week with some Miami’s best Latin bands. These diverse musical experiences were the basis for Vega’s unique and dynamic approach to jazz improvisation and composition. Carlos Vega has enjoyed extensive touring in America, Europe, South America, South America, and Africa throughout his career. He has performed with a number of well-known artists, including Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, Arturo Sandoval and Ira Sullivan, Tito Puente Jr. and Chicago Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble (CALJE), as well as trumpet legend Doc Severinsen. He moved to Chicago in 2005 to complete a graduate music program at the University of Illinois. He quickly joined the exciting and vibrant Chicago Latin Jazz Ensemble (CALJE).
