Christy Doran

Christy Doran was raised in Dublin, Ireland, and has lived in Lucerne since childhood. Christy was first exposed to music by his father, an Irish ballad singing man. He was a founding member of “OM”, a seminal Swiss band, in the 1970’s. He has toured Europe and performed on radio/TV. Workshops, appearances, music for ballet, theatre, and film. His career includes numerous solo concerts in which he pushes the limits of one guitar. Marty Ehrlich has been in duos with Fritz Hauser and Harry Pepl as well as Dave Doran, Dom Um Romao John Wolf-Brennan (Robert Dick), Ray Anderson, and others. After playing in a trio together with Jasper van’t Hoof, he formed the “Christy Doran’s Mai 84” septet, which included Norma Winstone and Trilok Gurtu. Rosko Gee, Urs Leimgruber and Dom Um Romao. He was a member of “RED TWIST” and the “Peter Warren Quartet”, along with Victor Lewis, John Surman and John Surman.
