Clifton Davis is an actor, singer and songwriter who has been featured in many television and film shows. Clifton Davis has been a recording artist, with many inspirational and gospel songs. His film career started in 1974 with the movie Lost in the Stars. He portrayed Clifton Curtis in the comedy That’s My Mama from 1974 to 1975. Davis was very influential in the 1980s. In 1986, his fame and popularity grew tremendously when he played Reverend Reuben Gregory opposite Sherman Hemsley on the comedy sitcom Amen. Davis played the role in real life of a minister for four years during the run-up to the finale. He was also the associate pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, California. In the 1980s, he starred in many movies, including The Night the City Screamed and Don’t Look Back. Davis is also known for his songwriting skills.
