Cole Williams, an American musician, storyteller and model, resides in New Orleans. Her music is described as a mixture of jazz, rock, funk and Jamaican soul. Every Tuesday, she hosts the WWOZ New Orleans Music Show. Williams is originally from Brooklyn and moved to New Orleans in 2015 as a host of the WWOZ New Orleans Music Show. Cole Williams founded her jewelry line CANDIbyCole in New Orleans after moving there in 2015. She attended Brooklyn Technical High School, where notable alumni include Talib Kweli and Mos Def. The Cole Williams Band is Williams’ band, which has opened for India Arie and Lauryn Hill since 2007. The Sin City The Mix Tape album was released by Cole Williams Band in 2016. Cole also performed at the prestigious New Orleans Jazz Fest that year. Cole Williams and Cassady collaborated on “Stand Tall” in 2015. She has also been a backing singer for Aloe Blacc and Chiddy Bang as well as Lisa Lisa. Cole Williams Band released a cover version of Sam Cooke’s song “A Change is Gonna Come” and an original song, “Free”, in 2017. In 2017, Williams partnered with the New Orleans Jazz Museum to present a series on music and storytelling. Cole Williams was nominated by Off Beat Magazine, a local New Orleans alt-weekly.
